"have it your way"
One of our clients made a rather clear observation the other day about what it means to want to work with Xopus. They have had experiences with installing, implementing and working with other software, and we recently showed them what it would entail if they would want to work with Xopus instead.
Our client stated that if you want to work with Xopus, a lot of thought has to go into what that work actually is. With other software it often means that you get extra work from having to work with the software.
What does this mean? Xopus allows clients to develop practically every view, perspective, role-oriented, customized and/or personal interface that the client wants. A slightly unobvious example of this is the double view on the Simple Document Demo. You can draw two ways of looking, and editing, the same information in the same window. You could, if you follow me, draw any interface for this demo.
And that is just it. Xopus caters to the specific needs of the users in as far as the interface is designed to do that. The Simple Document Demo shows a simple word-processor interface. The Recipe Demo shows a more specific interface for a recipe, with several specific items for a recipe. This interface could be changed so that it specifically caters to the needs of cooks, for example.
So if you want to work with Xopus, it is a good idea to put some thought into what your work is, how you want to be doing that, and what you want your XML to look like, and how the structure of it resembles the work that you do.
Xopus can create a practically seamless interface between a human way of working with information and the structured way that we would like to organize that in. If you design and implement the interface that best suits your needs in Xopus, you will not create much work from working with our software, but create a more efficient way of working with the information itself, with your information.
This may sound like a sales pitch, and I will not deny that is why we put it up there. However, if you are the least bit interested in this, feel free to contact us to get a real idea of what it means to start working with Xopus.
