Features
Xopus is a very flexible application, yet supports many standards. Learn more about these standards and Xopus' ease of use.
Browser based
Xopus runs on Internet Explorer 6.0 and up on Windows 2000 or XP. Xopus can be automatically updated, just by placing a new version on a central server.
Xopus requires only the MSXML4 libraries from Microsoft. These will be automatically installed if needed and the user has the appropriate rights. A manual installer is available to start Xopus in a locked down no-rights environment.
Easy CMS integration
Xopus can easily be configured to load and save XML using any HTTP based protocol. WebDAV, "HTML form post", "raw XML post" and "multipart mime encoded file upload" data drivers are available.
Node values can be configured to use a lookup page generated by the CMS. Link and image repositories can easily be integrated into Xopus using this technique.
W3C XSLT Support
Standard XSLT templates can be used for the editing view. Xopus supports multiple independant user selectable views. Each view can consist of multiple XSLT templates which will be applied consecutively.
While editing the view is re-rendered realtime after every change. This will make the results of complex switches in the XSLT immediately visible. Resorting, recalculating complex expressions, changing layout are some of the possibilities.
W3C XML Schema Support
Xopus uses XSD to validate the XML document before it can be edited. Once Xopus has ensured the validity of a document, it will keep the document valid during editing. This allows the user to save a valid document at any time during the editing process. It also prevents technical, non friendly, validation errors which occur with post validation.
Xopus is easy to use
To use Xopus, a user only needs to know how to use a word processor. Xopus allows normal computer users to edit complex XML documents by hiding most of the complexity and using the rest of the complexity to aid the user while editing. This frees your technically more advanced and more expensive employees for other, more challenging, tasks.
