Crashes happen, and sometimes you mistakenly press the “X” on a Chromium Browser tab when you only wanted to switch to it. I know I have. Maybe my mouse cursor speed isn’t calibrated correctly, or maybe I’m too happy with the clicks. But if I’m not particularly careful with the positioning of my cursor, it’s because I have a secret weapon up my sleeve: I know that Ctrl+Shift+T protects me.

What is Ctrl+Shift+T (or Cmd+Shift+T for Mac users)? I’d say it’s one of the most important and useful keyboard shortcuts, right up there with Ctrl + Z. In fact, it performs a similar function: undoing an error. Specifically, the error of accidentally closing a browser tab or window. Ctrl+Shift+T is the easiest way to restore a browser tab you didn’t want to delete.

Four Ways to Reopen Closed Tabs in Google Chrome

Google Chrome gives you a few options for restoring tabs and windows after closing them, and depending on your needs, it’s good to know how they all work. Note, however, that restoring closed tabs is not an option when browsing in incognito mode.

1. Hotkey method

The fastest way to restore a single tab you accidentally closed is to use a keyboard shortcut. On a PC, use Ctrl+Shift+T. On a Mac, use Cmd+Shift+T. If you want to restore multiple tabs, or need a tab you closed a while ago, just keep pressing Ctrl + Shift + T and your tabs will reappear in the order they were closed . Bonus: If you accidentally close your entire browser window, just open a new Chrome window and the keyboard shortcut will re-open everything immediately. This is a great trick for those times when a system update requires you to close your browser or completely restart your computer.

2. Browser History Method

Your Chrome browser history also keeps track of recently closed tabs. It’s not as fast as a keyboard shortcut, but this method is useful if you closed the tab a long time ago and need to refer back to it.

There are several ways to access your browser history in Chrome. One way is to use another shortcut: Ctrl+H. Another is to click on the hamburger menu in the upper right corner of your browser and then select Story. And a third option is to type “chrome://history” in your address bar and then hit enter.

Whichever way you get to your browser history, once there, you’ll have access to all the websites and tabs you’ve visited, in reverse chronological order. Clicking on a result will reopen it for you. Browsing the hamburger menu also has a built-in list of Recently closed tabs, which you can select to reopen them.

3. Tab search method

Have you ever noticed the little down-pointing arrow in your Chrome tab bar? On Windows, it’s right next to the icons to minimize, maximize, and close your window. (On Mac, it’s in the top right.) This icon is Chrome’s built-in tab search function, which can be accessed with a simple keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+A. Tab search shows you a list of all the tabs you currently have open and another list of your recently closed tabs. You can scroll through the listings to reopen or jump to the tab you want, or use the search bar to find it with a keyword. This comes in handy for those who keep dozens of tabs open at all times.

4. Taskbar method

If you have a Chrome window open or the app pinned to your taskbar, right-click the taskbar icon and you’ll see a short list of links: The most visited and recently closed. From there, you can restore a tab simply by clicking on it. (Note that these options do not appear on Mac.)

There is a Chrome setting that basically makes Ctrl + Shift + T the default. Most other methods of reopening a tab also work on all browsers, although menu labels and options may differ. The experience is largely the same on a Mac, except for the taskbar method.

For Firefox and Microsoft Edge, you can also browse your browser history to find and reopen a tab you accidentally closed. Firefox has a dedicated submenu under Story called Recently closed tabs. Microsoft Edge has a tab Story menus for All, recently closed and Tabs from other devices. In Opera, if the sidebar is enabled — and if history is one of the items you’ve chosen to include in the sidebar — by clicking the Story The sidebar icon will also display a list of recently closed tabs.

Other browsers also offer a setting to automatically reopen tabs from the previous session on startup. In Firefox, go to Settings > General and check the box under start tagged Open previous windows and tabs. UCSF and I-SPY 2 breast cancer researchers develop newly redefined breast cancer response subtypes

SAN FRANCISCO, June 6, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Researchers and statisticians at the University of California, San Francisco have developed improved biomarker classifications as part of their research findings in the I-SPY 2 trial for female cancer patients high-risk breast. The new cancer response subtypes reflect responsiveness to drug treatments and aim to help clinicians be more specific in how they target therapies.

I-SPY 2, sponsored by Quantum Leap Healthcare Collaborative (QLHC) which manages all collaborations between academic and industrial partners, announced that these new subtypes will progress into the next iteration of the I-SPY 2.2 trial.

Using the full multi-omic molecular characterization of the I-SPY 2 assay (Investigation of Serial Studies to Predict Your Therapeutic Response with Imaging And moLecular Analysis) of all tumors and the diverse array of drugs targeting different pathways molecules, the I-SPY 2 researchers were able to access the associated datasets to create breast cancer subtypes corresponding to modern treatments.

Researchers have found that by combining predictive biomarkers to create predictive breast cancer response subtypes, these subtypes can then be linked to the most effective modern treatments. The best subtyping schemes incorporate Immune, DNA repair, Luminal and HER2 phenotypes. Assigning treatment using these predictive response subtypes can improve treatment efficacy and patient outcomes.

The researchers recently published their findings online in cancer cell: “Redefining Breast Cancer Subtypes to Guide Treatment Prioritization and Maximizing Response: Predictive Biomarkers on 10 Cancer Therapies,” which describes newly defined breast cancer response subtypes and improved classifications .

Using the I-SPY2-990 mRNA/Phospho-Protein Data Resource from nearly 1000 patients who participated in 10 arms of the I-SPY 2 trial, researchers assessed 27 predictive biomarkers of I-qualifying SPY 2 which led to the development of a response-predictive subtyping scheme to prioritize therapies. First authors Denise Wolfdoctorate and Christina YauPhDs, both from UCSF, used gene expression, protein levels and response data from 10 groups of drugs from the neoadjuvant I-SPY2 trial to create new subtypes of breast cancer that integrate tumor biology beyond clinical hormone receptors (HR) and HER2 status.

“Using these predictive subtypes of response can be used to guide treatment prioritization, will increase response, and revolutionize the way physicians treat their patients,” said Laura van ‘t Veer, PhD, co-director of UCSF Breast Oncology Program and Principal Scientist for I-SPY 2 Biomarker Studies.

Triple-negative high-risk groups, as well as HER2-negative hormone receptor positive high-risk groups, are divided into 3 different predictive response subtypes; HER2 positive groups are divided into 2 predictive response subtypes. The researchers demonstrate that the use of the subtype scheme representing multiple drug-targetable pathways allows for more appropriate classification of tumors and is an improvement over current standard methods.

The I-SPY 2 trial is considered the archetype of a new approach to clinical trials. Rather than the traditional “one drug, one disease” model for drug development, this is a “platform” trial. I-SPY 2 evaluates multiple drugs (or drug combinations) in parallel with the goal of determining which drugs work best in various types of breast cancer. I-SPY 2 is also designed for efficiency and speed, using an “adaptive” statistical model. Individual patient results are used to refine how investigational drugs are assigned to new patients. Due to its approach, I-SPY 2 can achieve similar results in a fraction of the time with fewer patients than traditional trials. The goal is to get the right drug to the right patient. These new predictive subtypes of response help better characterize a person’s tumor and, from there, determine whether it is likely to respond to specific treatments such as immune checkpoint blockade.

“The past ten years of treating patients under the I-SPY program have taught us that the standard biomarker tests we use today do not allow us to optimize the treatment of our patients,” said Laura EssermanMD, co-director of UCSF Breast Oncology Program and Director of the UCSF Breast Care Center as well as Principal Investigator of I-SPY 2. “The entire I-SPY team is so excited to see these results and to improve how we target our therapies. This is an important breakthrough for patients, and a clear demonstration that the I-SPY model can not only accelerate the development of new cancer treatments, it can also target treatment to the patients who will benefit the most. chance that a drug will lead to a cure and minimize the use of other therapies that may not be helpful or add toxicity.

The I-SPY 2 network will prospectively test the response predictive subtyping scheme in I-SPY2.2, an upcoming version of the I-SPY2 trial that incorporates a sequential multiple-assignment randomized trial design (SMART) and tailors treatment within each patient based on biology and response.

The I-SPY2-990 mRNA/RPPA data resource is now publicly available. “This dataset will be an invaluable resource for the breast cancer research and drug development community, and ultimately for patients,” Esserman said.

The design of the I-SPY 2 TRIAL adaptive trial is based on the Bayesian predictive probability that a biological diet will be statistically superior to standard treatment in an equally randomized confirmatory trial of 300 patients. Diets that have a high Bayesian predictive probability of showing superiority in at least one of the predefined signatures drop out of the trial. Treatment regimens are discarded for futility if they have a low predictive probability of superiority over standard therapy in all signatures. A maximum total of 100 patients can be assigned to each experimental regimen. A plan can be graduated early and at any time after being assigned to 60 patients.

I SPY 2.2 incorporates a more patient-centric design and the ability to test new targeted agents without traditional first-line chemotherapy, followed by the most targeted agents by the new response predictive subtypes in the new improved design. The objective is, within the next 5 years, for 90% of high-risk patients to have a complete response (disappearance of the tumour) with targeted and less toxic combinations before surgery. The initial release of query parameter stripping in Firefox 102 uses a blocklist to strip known tracking parameters from top-level URLs; this includes navigation events such as opening a new tab, clicking links, redirects, or window.open() events.

The Orion browser’s extension support is good, but not great. I’ve used the browser with a dozen extensions, including Bitwarden, Dark Reader, Simple Translate, SponsorBlock, OneTab, and more.

I had problems only with the following extensions:

Auto Tab Discard – Shortcut not available in tab context menu. I had to use the add-on button instead.
behind! – Didn’t work at all.
Group Speed Dial – New tab page did not render correctly, but Options page worked.
Undo Closed Tab – The add-on context menu did not display the list of closed tabs.

If a Firefox add-on isn’t working properly, try the Chrome version and vice versa. Overall, the extension experience is mixed, but that’s to be expected since the browser is still in beta.

Is Orion Browser worth using?

Yes, I would say it’s worth trying just for uBlock Origin, which is not possible with Safari. Orion is also pretty good when it comes to battery life, and that’s no surprise since it uses the Webkit engine, which is well optimized for MacBooks.

But, if you are a Firefox or Brave/Vivaldi/Edge/Chrome/Opera user who relies on a lot of extensions, you might have to give up a few add-ons to switch to Orion.
