CoronaCheck application “not working”: some users report problems with browsers
Some users have reported issues installing the CoronaCheck app, which will be required to access indoor events and venues starting September 25.
According to reviews posted online, as of early September, people were having issues when their mobile device was using certain browsers.
There are reports that people who have services like DuckDuckGo or Firefox as their default browser – rather than Google Chrome – cannot attach their DigiD government identity code to retrieve a vaccination certificate.
A user called “Hans Alves” gave the app a one-star review, claiming on September 2 that “almost a month later nothing has been fixed”, although he found a workaround .
Rijksoverheid, the government, apparently responded to its initial review in August, saying, âThis is a known issue. For now, we suggest using Chrome or Firefox. The developers are working hard to fix it. this issue.’
DutchNews.nl has contacted a spokesperson for the Ministry of Health for clarification on how the app works.
A helpline for people with problems is “too busy” and Friday afternoon was no longer accepting calls.
