Dir Agriculture reviews CSS implementation in Pulwama

Pulwama, November 5: Kashmir’s Director of Agriculture Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal held a meeting of Pulwama district officials on Friday to review the progress of the implementation of various center-sponsored programs (CSS) in the district.
The meeting was briefed in detail on various programs, including the National Saffron Mission, Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna, the National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture, the National Agricultural Extension and Technology Mission, the National Food Security Mission, Soil Health Map Program, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Senchayee Yojana, PM-Kissan and other programs currently implemented by the Department.
Speaking on the occasion, the director said that the department is committed to reviving the past glory of the saffron sector and that with the help of the National Saffron Mission, it has come a long way. He said the department is working to increase the reach of this most expensive spice in newer areas and markets and to introduce it to national and international marketing platforms.
He asked the agents concerned and the heads of the department to work in a cordial and coordinated atmosphere with the saffron producers and to bring all the latest global interventions in this sector to the farmer’s field so that this unique spice can attract more and more young people from the valley towards her.
Previously, the manager had traveled to Tahab and inspected the newly installed micro-sprinkler irrigation facilities and the fields of progressive vegetable growers.
