Google Chrome 99 dragging and dropping URLs to bookmarks bar not working
Google Chrome 99 arrived earlier this month as Google’s latest web browser update. However, many users have encountered issues with the bookmark system since the update.
According to several reports, “dragging and dropping” URLs to bookmarks does not work properly because it causes erratic behavior in Google Chrome 99 (1, 2, 3).
Google Chrome 99 drag and drop URLs to bookmarks not working
Currently, when many Google Chrome 99 users try to drag and drop URLs to bookmarks, they start encountering various issues that do not allow them to complete the action.
First, the action may simply prevent the URL from being saved in the browser’s Bookmarks folder.
In other cases, the action even causes Google Chrome to crash. Also, the problem seems to occur randomly between different computers using the same browser version.
Chrome drag and drop bookmarks causing chrome to freeze
For two days now I can’t drag and drop URLs into. my bookmark folders. I’ve been doing this for years and somehow it doesn’t work anymore. I have two computers and am having the issue on my Mac Mini only. It works fine on my MacBook Pro running the same MacOS 12.2.1 and Chrome 99.0.4844.51.

Meanwhile, for some users, it is possible to drag and drop URLs into bookmarks, but only into main folders (not subfolders).
Bookmark cannot add new item to second level folder.
1. I have saved thousands of articles in bookmarks.
2. I encountered a problem while using bookmarks to add a new bookmark to the second level folder in these two days.
3. if i add a new bookmark at first level, it’s OK, but when i add to second level folder, the new item is not saved and the screen freezes in this state for a few seconds.

Finally, in some cases, users cannot save bookmarks even by doing it manually (not by dragging and dropping the URL into the folder).
Bookmarks not saving
Salvation! I just realized my bookmarks aren’t being saved – I have no idea how long it’s been, but last week I saved a bunch of youtube tutorials and then realized they don’t had not been saved. I went to save them again and it says blue star but they don’t show up in my bookmarks bar. Why is this happening and how can I fix it?
