Pentium-powered 17.3-inch Acer Chromebook 317 now available for $ 499
It’s hard to believe, but it’s been over three months since we unboxed the world’s very first 17.3-inch Chromebook. Personally, I can’t seem to convince myself to consider a device of this size, but it’s clear that there is a market for these oversized Chromebooks and I totally understand that many just want this kind of laptop. When it was announced, the base model of the Acer Chromebook 317 quickly went on sale at Walmart for a whopping $ 329. Although it’s entry-level, it’s a solid price for a Chromebook with a 17.3 â³ FullHD display and an integrated numeric keypad. Again, this is not my style but I am not you.
For users who want a massive but a bit more powerful Chrome OS laptop, the beefier Acer 317 Chromebook has finally arrived at Best Buy and the price is quite respectable for what you get. This model has the same 17.3-inch FullHD display, an integrated numeric keypad, and 64GB of storage. However, you get a serious power boost thanks to 8GB of RAM and Intel’s more powerful Pentium Silver N6000. On the outside, you’ll get two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, and a handy MicroSD card slot for extra storage space.

The other improvement found on this particular model is the addition of a backlit keyboard. It’s a much sought-after feature in any laptop, and it adds a lot of value to what is arguably a budget-conscious Chromebook. The asking price for this massive Chromebook is only $ 499 and that seems like good value for money considering the base model was advertised at $ 399. This release brings a lot more to the table and that would be my recommendation if you’re seriously considering a 17.3in Chromebook. We’ll see more such devices in the future as ASUS hits shelves and we’ll likely see 17.3 “models from other OEMs in 2022. In the meantime, you can find the Chromebook Acer 317 at the link below.
